DotDash started with a simple frustration: every Morse code app looked like it was built in 2009, and every one of them taught from a chart. Morse is a sound — a rhythm your ear learns the way it learns a ringtone — and the best research on teaching it has been clear since the 1930s. We wanted an app that took that research seriously and was actually fun to open every day.

What we believe

• Learn by ear, at real speed. The Koch method and Farnsworth timing are non-negotiable.
• Five minutes a day beats an hour on Sunday. Streaks, hearts and XP exist to protect the habit.
• No ads, ever. Free learners and Pro learners get the same respect.
• Morse is social. Secret messages turn practice into something you do with friends.

Meet Beep

Beep is a signal lamp who came to life somewhere between a lighthouse and a ship’s bridge. Beep flashes every character you learn, celebrates your wins and looks slightly worried when you lose a heart. Pro learners can dress Beep in outfits. Beep is very into that.
